We want a basic, easy to use, affordable, utilitarian car.
We never want to drive faster than 90 MPH / 145 KPH.
We really don’t need to accelerate to 60 MPH / 96 KPH in just 5 seconds.
We don’t need the car to drive itself.
We don’t need to show off our car design, we would rather go unnoticed.
We don’t want to have to look down and access a touch screen and navigate little menus to make it warmer or cooler, and change the wiper speed.
We want a simple car. We want a very simple car.
We want to steer with a round wheel, and speed up and slow down using two pedals.
We want to have comfortable seats, isolating suspension, and great soundproofing.
We want a Rolls Royce ride at a Fiat price.
We want simple physical controls for temperature and air direction, mirroring the logical mechanical controls of old.
Easy to find controls for lights and wipers without looking.
The car should not be like an operating system that a driver has to study and learn to use.
We would like a reasonable range over 160 miles / 260 kilometers and batteries that are cheap and easy to replace after they eventually stop holding a good charge.
We would appreciate bumpers that don’t cost $10,000 to fix, and a waterproof smart key that floats.
We really need a roof that is not made of glass. Could there even be a worse material than glass for a car roof? Maybe paper would be worse.
We would like to keep our eyes on the road and find everything without looking away from the road ahead. If we need to wear glasses, we should only need distance glasses to safely operate the car, not trifocals.
It could easily be sold for an inexpensive price, and be long-lasting, with easy-to-find, commonly-sized, tires, brake pads, and wiper blades.
We don’t want the design to be changed a little bit every July so that we are always made to feel like we suddenly have the old one.
We would love to be able to walk away reasonably unhurt after a crash.
It should be very easy to clean, inside and out.
If only someone would make this car, instead of what they offer now. The Model T of the future.
